Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of pet travel certification services by Lakes Pet Travel ("we", "us", or "our"). By booking our services or requesting an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) or other Official Veterinarian (OV) certification work, you ("the Client") agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Services Provided

Lakes Pet Travel provides pet travel documentation services, specializing in small animal exports and the provision of Animal Health Certificates (AHCs) and related OV certification work. We serve clients across Cumbria and North Lancashire.

2. Provision of Service (Click and Collect)

• Location: Our primary business delivery model is a professional click and collect service in the South Lakes, operating from a convenient location just off Junction 36 of the M6.

• Collection Appointments: A mutually agreeable collection date and time must be scheduled in advance. The pet(s) and the owner (or an authorized representative/courier specified during booking) must be present at the time of collection for the mandatory identity verification (microchip scanning) as required by official regulations.

3. House Visits

• House visits are not our standard method of delivery and are strictly subject to availability.

• House visits may be considered on an individual basis if clinical and certification schedules permit.

• Additional Fees: If a house visit is approved and scheduled, supplementary fees will apply. These fees cover travel time and mileage and will be quoted to the Client prior to confirming the visit.

4. Client Responsibilities & Accuracy of Information

• Document Submission: The Client is solely responsible for supplying accurate, legible, and complete supporting documentation (e.g., original rabies vaccination cards, proof of microchipping, and previous passports) within the timeframes requested by us.

• Information Verification: The Client must verify that all details provided (including owner's name, pet's identity, travel dates, and destination country) match their travel bookings exactly. Lakes Pet Travel cannot be held legally or financially responsible for border entry delays, rejections, or travel disruptions resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the Client.

• Timing: It is the Client's responsibility to ensure they book their certificate within the legally required window before travel (e.g., within 10 days of entering the EU for standard AHCs).

5. Fees and Payment

• We pride ourselves on offering a reasonably priced AHC provision. Our fees will be clearly outlined to you during your initial enquiry or booking process.

• Payment must be made in full by BACS prior to certificate collection and in advance of the certificate collection appointment as stated to qualify for the reduced rates. Documents will not be released or signed by the Official Veterinarian until full payment is cleared.

• Once an appointment is confirmed and payment received only then will the appointment be classed as having been finalized. All sales are final and the standard policy is that no refund will be issued after an appointment is finalized.

6. Cancellations and Amendments

• If you need to cancel or reschedule your click and collect appointment, please notify us as soon as possible by emailing info@lakespettravel.com.

• We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request, subject to availability, but also cannot guarantee availability especially if short notice.

• Once an official certificate has been drafted or finalized by the Official Veterinarian, any changes required due to a client error or changed travel plans may incur an amendment or full re-drafting fee.

7. Professional Standards and Limitations

• As an experienced, RCVS-registered clinical vet and Official Veterinarian (OV), all certification work is carried out strictly in accordance with DEFRA, APHA, and RCVS professional codes of conduct.

• We reserve the right to refuse the issuance of any export certificate if the legal requirements for travel are not met, if the pet's microchip cannot be read, or if any provided documentation appears fraudulent or non-compliant.
